something more magical than it ever was fronttraditional log cabin quilt, made from outgrown family clothing and silk, with photo and dye transfer, 90 x 90 inches, 1991 This is a quilt about memory and how it becomes altered over time. The central 'hearth' shapes in each of the log cabin blocks are an orange colour. The ones in the middle are photo transfers of the children when they were very young, the middle sized ones are drawings of the family, and the larger ones that are the furthest away from the 'real' of the photo, are abstract and hazy paintings. This piece was completed in 1991 and was included in I Will Remember You Until I Die at the Thunder Bay Art Gallery September - November 1991. Judy Martin was 40 years old in 1991 and this was her first solo exhibition in a public gallery.
