thunder and lightning

front

painted cotton, cotton, rayon, hand painted, hand embroidered, machine pieced, hand quilted, 72 x 74 inches 1989

Both thunder and lightning are needed in order to have a memorable storm.  Both craft and art are needed to have a good piece of art.  The text is a quote from Canadian stained glass artist, Ted Goodden, who also wrote a children's book entitled the Glory Trap. The traditional log cabin quilt is arranged in the streak of lightning format.

Collection of the artist.
